FYI, I'm closing those two, as I have rebooted, and it now works. I suspect it started to go wrong after a suspend/resume cycle.
I suspect dbus using applications are not in perfect shape after resume... OK, let's say the bug is neither in pmount nor drivemount_applet. Sorry for bothering.
