It's an idle test system, so I doubt it's from a background process
and MySQL was being upgraded at that moment.
with imap installed on your system? Maybe a shared library in another package
is broken? Try again after a complete "apt-get upgrade".
If it still fails, try to get some more information with
"ldd /usr/sbin/mysqld" and "strace /usr/sbin/mysqld" and
"ltrace /usr/sbin/mysqld"...
MySQL appears to be running fine, it was just that error/warning
message that was strange.
