Ugh. I am beginning to fear more and more that kcdlabel will just have to be removed from the archive. It was originally written for KDE2, and then ported to KDE3 with some help. Probably the forward porting didn't do so perfectly cleanly - the API changed dramatically between KDE2 and KDE3, so it would be difficult to get it right. kcdlabel is also basically dead upstream (only bug fix releases at this point).
