As you know, there's a great concern in upstream about the package split. They have to provide support for users of incomplete wine installs that didn't install the components they need. I fully understand (and agree with) your reasons for package split, but I'd like to see if we could do something to improve relationship with upstream (and also make it easier for our most novice users). Please, can you consider the following proposal: - Rename "wine" binary package to "wine-bin". - Add new "wine" meta-package that depends on everything (except libwine-dev).
