I agree, it should be under control of my window manager, but fluxbox is doing everything right, I thought. rxvt-unicode works perfectly fine. However, I just found out that xfig, which is not Gtk, has the same problem. Argh! And I thought I had researched the bug well enough! So I will have to look elsewhere.
