Package: resolvconf Version: 1.37 Severity: important resolvconf attempts, but fails, to restart nscd upon changing the contents of resolv.conf. This results in the continued use of the old resolv.conf contents and cached entries.
/etc/resolvconf/update.d/libc attempts to start-stop-daemon using the pidfile /var/run/nscd.pid. This was the location of the file for the sarge version of nscd, but newer versions of nscd put the pidfile in /var/run/nscd/nscd.pid.
