Jonas,

Is there a lot of work involved in making awstats work with Apache2
"out of the box" ?

I've just installed awstats on my system and I'm using Apache 2. I
could document what
I do, and then have a look at it so that it can be packaged up in a
more non-local way.

I'm not too familiar with things, I'm pretty new to Debian, but using
apt-get all the time
I do run into debconf when I install other packges. Couldn't
something similar be done
with awstats ? Have the package ask a certain number of questions,
based on how many
things need to be changed, so that upon installation, you have
something that is pretty
well customised to your local system. At least for some of the more
general things, like
what is your log file ? where is it locate ? are you using apache1
or apache2 ? do you want to process mail and ftp logs ? etc. etc. etc.

As I said, I'm new to Debian, but would love to contribute if I can.
Maybe this is exactly the
kind of minor task that can get me involved :)

cheers,

  mehul
