Thanks for including this two patches. Unfortunately hercules still does
not build on GNU/kFreeBSD because it also needs a config.guess and
config.sub update. I probably wasn't clear enough in my bug report.
If you want I can provide you a patch for that, otherwise just replace
the two files the package with the version from /usr/share/misc/ .
BTW, about the question why it only happens to ARM, it happens on a few
targets (but only on ARM among supported Debian architectures). It is
due to binutils not allowing those dollars signs because they have
another signification.
