Actually I was wondering if your pae-enabled machine that does not support 4Gb of RAM could use the pae version. If so, then the description should probably be changed to reflect that the xen-pae version should be used on machines that support more than 4Gb instead of those that actually have more than 4Gb. I think I am able to test that in a few weeks myself when I retire my old server.
