This was to be done ONLY in Sarge when this is NOT available (as it was REALLY a time saver thing). You have for sure notice the check of the /etc/debian_version (as you told me it was wrong too). Do you have a solution so I can keep asking this when running Sarge? I'd be very happy to do it the correct way.
