I was running a myself-compiled kernel that was seeing the disk as sdX.
Using debian kernel i see again /dev/i2o/hdX.
I loaded i2o_config and this is the output in /var/log/syslog:

Loading Adaptec I2O RAID: Version 2.4 Build 5go
Detecting Adaptec I2O RAID controllers...
PCI: Unable to reserve mem region #1:[EMAIL PROTECTED] for device 0000:03:03.0
dpti: adpt_config_hba: pci request region failed
Could not Init an I2O RAID device
Will not try to detect others.
I2O Configuration OSM v1.323

srv-mail:~# raidutil -L controller
