Is there any news or any hopes to see this package in Debian ?
In fact, the very interesting point of this engine is to play RTSP
streams : the French ISP Free provides RTSP streams to watch TV and
listen radio stations on every computer located in the same LAN than the
ADSL modem. Currently, the only ways to read such streams are VLC and
mplayer. The first isn't as complete as Amarok to manage collections,
and the second is very powerful, but you have to write a lot of scripts
to make it usable.
There's about 1.5 million people who can receive TV & radio stations
this way. I know not all of them are actually using Debian and Amarok,
but well, it could helps to have a unique audio player :)
