Nico, I figured out why this is happening - see the bug log - I forgot to CC you on my last message. I'm not sure it's really possible to fix it (I explain why in my earlier message), but there is a simple workaround. In ~/.subversion/config or /etc/subversion/config, in the [tunnels] section, add a line: ssh = $SVN_SSH ssh -o ControlMaster=no I will probably add this to /etc/subversion/config in the next upload.
