Package: osdsh Version: 0.7.0-7 Followup-For: Bug #301207 Hi Joachim,
I'm sorry to say that this is not yet fixed for me :-S osdsh now starts without saying anything when I give it: no -m option, the -m option with a sensible value (i.e. /dev/mixer0) or even with some invalid filename. So far so good(?). The difference is: now it does not even work (i.e. show the volume when changed) with no -m option and issuing "osdctl -m 1". Instead I get an Illegal seek warning when trying to enable -m via osdctl: $osdsh $osdctl -m 1 Error opening: No such file or directory I¨: Illegal seek $osdctl -m 0 $osdctl -m 1 Error opening: No such file or directory I¨: Illegal seek $osdctl -x $osdsh -m /dev/mixer0 $ps ax|grep osd 7416 pts/0 S 0:00 osdsh -m /dev/mixer0 7426 pts/0 S 0:00 osdsh -m /dev/mixer0 7427 pts/0 S 0:00 osdsh -m /dev/mixer0 $osdctl -m 1 Error opening: No such file or directory I¨: Illegal seek $osdctl -m 0 $osdctl -m 1 Error opening: No such file or directory I¨: Illegal seek At no state I can get the volume-bar to show up. greetings, Georg P.S.: I have attached a strace-log from osdsh as it includes the "Illegal seek" statement.
