Package: mono Version: 1.2.2.1 Severity: serious Justification: no longer builds from source
I need to qualify this with I'm by no means a dpkg hacker, but... I'm trying to build mono-1.2.2.1 on a sarge system. During the build process, I see the following errors: dh_gencontrol -s -- -Vmono:upversion=1.2.2.1 -Vmono:next-upversion=1.2.2.2 dpkg-gencontrol: warning: unknown substitution variable ${misc:Depends} dpkg-gencontrol: warning: unknown substitution variable ${source:Version} dpkg-gencontrol: warning: unknown substitution variable ${misc:Depends} dpkg-gencontrol: warning: unknown substitution variable ${misc:Depends} dpkg-gencontrol: warning: unknown substitution variable ${misc:Depends} dpkg-gencontrol: warning: unknown substitution variable ${misc:Depends} and dpkg-deb: building package `mono-common' in `../mono-common_1.2.2.1-1_i386.deb'. dpkg-deb: parse error, in file `debian/mono-runtime/DEBIAN/control' near line 6 package `mono-runtime': `Depends' field, reference to `mono-gac': error in version: version string is empty dh_builddeb: command returned error code 512 make: *** [binary-arch] Error 1 looking at debian/mono-runtime/DEBIAN/control it does in fact have a missing version number: Package: mono-runtime Version: 1.2.2.1-1 Section: interpreters Priority: optional Architecture: i386 Depends: mono-jit (= 1.2.2.1-1), mono-gac (= ) Provides: cli-runtime Installed-Size: 56 Maintainer: Debian Mono Group <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Source: mono fixing the Depends line by hand allows the bulid to complete successfully. Please let me know if there is any other information I can get for you. Thanks!
