It would be nice if it were possible to disable autonegociation and force the media type from netcfg. It is not uncommon with switches that ports are forced to 100baseTx-FD because autoneg just works badly. In such cases, the card with autoneg enabled sets itself in 100baseTx-HD, resulting in a very bad network performance.
