Could you please add the following line as line #15 to
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base:
install snd-rawmidi /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install snd-rawmidi && {
/sbin/modprobe --quiet snd-seq-midi ; : ; }
remove the /etc/modules hack and try again?
