The backtrace looks familiar from 399925 which was never explained. Fortunately my server is network visible if you want to reproduce this. All I had to do was start sylpheed-claws-gtk2 without any pre-existing configuration, select imap, enter imap2.codesourcery.com as server, and check "use ssl for receiving server".
