Package: pcsc-tools Version: 1.4.8-1 Severity: wishlist Bug: you need a README for people who think: "Hey, what's on that chip in that card in my wallet? I'll buy a "card reader" to find out!"
Hello, I have installed libpcsc-perl libccid pcsc-tools pcscd libpcsclite1, but I still can't figure out how to get started. All I want to do is have a look at whatever data lies in the chip embedded in my three Taiwan cards: health insurance, postbank, and pay telephone cards. I bought a iManufacturer 1 CASTLES iProduct 2 EZ100PU Smart Card Reader I run pcscd and pcsc_scan, stick in a card and nothing happens. syslog has no new lines either. All I want to do is $ od -c /my/smart/card or something. Pages like http://ludovic.rousseau.free.fr/softwares/pcsc-tools/ are not made for beginners. The CDROM accompanying the reader has these files on it, among others: API/Linux/v1.1.0/example/Makefile API/Linux/v1.1.0/example/casmcard.h API/Linux/v1.1.0/example/pcsclite.h API/Linux/v1.1.0/example/rdrtest API/Linux/v1.1.0/example/rdrtest.c API/Linux/v1.1.0/example/wintypes.h API/Linux/v1.1.0/include/casmcard.h API/Linux/v1.1.0/include/pcsclite.h API/Linux/v1.1.0/include/wintypes.h API/Linux/v1.1.0/lib/libcasmcard.so API/Linux/v1.1.0/readme.txt Linux/driver_ezusb_v1.4.0/Info.plist Linux/driver_ezusb_v1.4.0/creadme.txt Linux/driver_ezusb_v1.4.0/ezusb.so Linux/driver_ezusb_v1.4.0/install Linux/driver_ezusb_v1.4.0/readme.txt Linux/pcsclite_v1.1.1/pcsc-lite-1.1.1-1-redhat.i386.rpm Linux/readme.txt Of course I don't know what to do next. Maybe installing some debian package makes it unnecessary to use some of these files perhaps... -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
