The reporter didn't supply much information.

I'm not sure why any manufacturer would worry about
a serial number (in VPD page 0x80) for a SAS disk.
The SAS standard mandates 4 world wide unique naa-5
(64 bit) identifiers for each SAS disk:
  - one for the logical unit
  - another for the target device
  - one each for the target ports (SAS disks are
    dual ported (one early Fujitsu model wasn't))

These naa-5 addresses are found in the device
identification VPD page (0x83) whose support is
mandatory in SPC-2,3,4 .

The reporter should look at:
  sg_inq -i /dev/xxx

or:
  sg_vpd --page=di /dev/xxx
