Hello,
vlc-nox is the package with the bit of VLC not depending to X. So I
think the bug is rather on vlc

Is this file really missing ?
Can you launch other gtk applications ?
This file seems to be generated by the postinstall of libgtk2.0. Could
you try to reinstall it.
In the meantime , i fear that you'll have to run vlc without the
wxwidget interface and without the skins interface which uses the wx
dialogs.
so you have vlc -I dummy no intf at all
rc console
http http interface (on 8080 by default i think)
