ah! 2 seconds after I did hit "send" , I found out that  /media/usbdisk-1 was 
VFAT 

sorry. I have this USB disk with 2 partitions, one EXT one VFAT; unfortunately
sometimes hal/pmount randomly changes the order of mounting

this makes sense : that was the root of a VFAT partition
