I don't see why. "GPL2 or later" is DFSG-free last time I checked. Nor do I understand why you closed the bug. Policy is quite clear on the issue, as quoted below. wontfix is your own perogative, of course. Would you object to including a manpage if it were sent to you? --Joe > Joseph Nahmias writes: > > reopen 406289 > > thanks > > > > On Wed, Jan 10, 2007 at 08:35:34AM +0100, Matthias Klose wrote: > > > Joe Nahmias writes: > > > > Package: gcc > > > > Version: 4:4.1.1-15 > > > > > > > > The program '/usr/bin/gcc' is missing a manpage as required by Debian > > > > Policy, > > > > section 12.1. > > > > > > no, in the gcc-doc package (non-free). > > > > Sorry, not good enough: > > > > "Each program, utility, and function should have an associated manual > > page included in the same package." > > ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ > > [...] > > > > "If no manual page is available, this is considered as a bug and should > > be reported to the Debian Bug Tracking System (the maintainer of the > > package is allowed to write this bug report themselves, if they so > > desire).
