Package: deb-gview
Severity: minor
Tags: l10n

deb-gview uses an en_GB.po file where msgstr are identical to msgid's.

Though I understand the need, sometimes, of "British" translations to avoid
US-centric spelling in programs messages, this one seems mostly useless as is.

Unless there's a will to, some time, change this, I suggest removing this
file.

Other suggestions and recommendations:
-------------------------------------

Please don't upload yet. We have an update for the French translation to
send. I suggest you use this opportunity to post a call for translation
updates and new translations.

For this, you can use the "podebconf-report-po" program. While initially
designed for
debconf translations, it can be used for programs translations. You just need
to take care pointing it to the right directory with the "--podir" switch.

It can notify translators of existing but incomplete translations (just use
"podebconf-report-po --podir=po/" and edit the default message) but also
post a call for new translations with "podebconf-report-po --podir=po/
--call". A call for translation updates will then be sent to the debian-i18n
mailing list.
