Could people who change bug severities in the BTS send explanations along with their "bts" commands? I'm not the aptitude package maintainer but would I be Daniel, that would make me a bit angry. And anyway, people who will deal with that bug in the future will really wonder why these successive changes happened so quickly. This severity is probably correct but giving even a small rationale would be nice...:)
