If you mean that you ran md5sum on the iso and this is the result, that's a good thing. If you haven't you should. According to MD5SUMS that's correct for the 2006/12/13 debian-testing-amd64-netinst.iso (the MD5SUMS file is in the same directory as the iso images to which it referrs). > > I did mount the CD, and I can still mount it: > >mount /dev/cdrom > >ls -al /cdrom0 > total 197 > dr-xr-xr-x 9 root root 2048 2006-12-13 01:00 . > drwxr-xr-x 28 root root 832 2006-12-07 10:26 .. > lr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 1 2006-12-13 00:59 debian -> . > dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 2048 2006-12-13 01:00 .disk > dr-xr-xr-x 3 root root 2048 2006-12-13 00:59 dists > dr-xr-xr-x 3 root root 2048 2006-12-13 00:59 doc > dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 2048 2006-12-13 00:59 install > -r--r--r-- 1 root root 37139 2006-12-13 01:00 md5sum.txt > dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 2048 2006-12-13 00:59 pics > dr-xr-xr-x 3 root root 2048 2006-12-13 00:59 pool > -r--r--r-- 1 root root 10403 2006-12-13 00:59 README.html > -r--r--r-- 1 root root 80225 2006-12-12 23:52 README.mirrors.html > -r--r--r-- 1 root root 49719 2006-12-12 23:52 README.mirrors.txt > -r--r--r-- 1 root root 5432 2006-12-13 00:59 README.txt > dr-xr-xr-x 3 root root 2048 2006-12-13 00:59 tools > > I compared the contents of this .iso with today's daily install .iso, > and the one from 12/13/2006 is missing the isolinux/ subdirectory. > Its the isolinux directory that contains what will be the CD's boot block (or something like that). When you burn a CD it is helpful to verify the burn. It sounds like a bad burn. At least if you have a valid (MD5SUM verified) iso file its quick to burn a new CD (and verify this time).
