Package: gnomebaker
Version: 0.6.0-6
Severity: minor
Hello,
I use a kernel without CONFIG_SCSI_PROC_FS[1], just to try which
applications need /proc/scsi. gnomebaker is one of these:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gnomebaker
** (gnomebaker:5604): WARNING **: gbcommon_get_file_as_list - Failed to
get contents of file [/proc/scsi/sg/devices]
** (gnomebaker:5604): WARNING **: devices_get_scsi_device - Failed to
open /proc/scsi/sg/devices
** (gnomebaker:5604): CRITICAL **: devices_add_device: assertion
`device_name != NULL' failed
It should be possible to use sysfs to get whatever gnomebaker is
searching.
As a result gnomebaker doesn't recognize my dvd burner.
Best regards
Uwe
[1] from linux-2.6/drivers/scsi/Kconfig:
config SCSI_PROC_FS
bool "legacy /proc/scsi/ support"
depends on SCSI && PROC_FS
default y
---help---
This option enables support for the various files in
/proc/scsi. In Linux 2.6 this has been superseded by
files in sysfs but many legacy applications rely on this.
If unsure say Y.
