Package: mediawiki Version: 1:1.7 Severity: important On installation, mediawiki sym-links from /etc/apache2/conf.d/mediawiki1.7.conf to /etc/mediawiki1.7/apache.conf. Whilst convenient for single host, in a multiple hosting environment this has the unwanted effect of creating a /mediawiki alias on *all* VirtualHosts, and - potentially - overriding the configuration of any VirtualHost that already has a local copy of mediawiki installed.
By default, web apps should be disabled. A similar potentially harmful global alias was removed from gallery2 earlier this year in #344220.
