Are you sure this is related to version 2.1.0? Nothing has changed in
the way music is handled in this version. It sounds to me this problem
may be related to SDL instead, but the SDL_mixer and libsdl versions
haven't changed lately.

If you have libsdl1.2debian-all installed, you may also want to try
libsdl1.2debian-alsa instead. Such bugs are often related to arts or esd
backends going mad.
