Support for multicast source filter (RFC4570) was introduced in changeset 16564. It is included in current version of package. But there are some problems with it - see https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/826. In my case this attribute is set to wrong value (the same as group address), so clients add enteries like this: udp://[EMAIL PROTECTED]:8080 to their playlist and are unable to play anything.
