I've found a document of egg/anthy.el:

  http://anthy.sourceforge.jp/cgi-bin/hiki/hiki.cgi?Emacs%A4%AB%A4%E9#l11

which mentions that the original egg/anthy.el contains major bugs:

- conversion/undo failure
- M-h and M-k unusable
- dictionary registration unusable

and Shirai's version fixes those bugs. So, I feel the severity of
this bug should be `important', `normal' or so.

The Debian egg maintainer, could you please reconsider handling of
this bug?

BTW, should the Shirai's version be merged into the upstream? Is
the upstream development inactive/suspended?
