I installed a new system using debootstrap sid. I installed firefox aka. iceweasel. I tried to run it. firefox or iceweasel simply exited with code 1. I ran strace -f on my new machine and the old one. Filing the report on the old one. Saw weirdness with chrome and greprefs not being found in strace of new deboostrapped box. I compared dpkg --get-selections on both boxes... .. and guessed. apt-get install fileutils firefox AND NOW IT WORKS! So it seems someone missed a dependency in an install script somewhere. Why am I always the one to find these kinds of bugs.
