Package: uw-imapd Version: 7:2002edebian1-6 Severity: normal I run several uw-imapd servers using ssl. As self signed certificate expires in one year by default, all of them have expired. I tried to manually extend expiration date of some of them but being complex commands those of openssl after reading openssl docs I was not able to make extended certificates that works with imap uw-server and clients.
I suggest explaining that in README: "single command to extend expiration dates", or provide some script to do it. Finally I will create new self-signed certificates for my servers, but I spent a lot of time with this and a single line in README with the command I should have used could have avoided this. A better solution would be using some system wide private key to sign all certificates needed by servers in debian, but I suppose this is far away from the scope of this package. txemi. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (1100, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.10-1-k7 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages uw-imapd depends on: ii debconf 1.4.46 Debian configuration management sy ii libc-client2002edebian 7:2002edebian1-6 UW c-client library for mail proto ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libcomerr2 1.36release-1 common error description library ii libkrb53 1.3.6-1 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries ii libpam-runtime 0.76-22 Runtime support for the PAM librar ii libpam0g 0.76-22 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libssl0.9.7 0.9.7e-3 SSL shared libraries ii openssl 0.9.7e-3 Secure Socket Layer (SSL) binary a -- debconf information: * uw-imapd/protocol: imap2, imaps -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
