Now that update-inetd has been separated into another package, what is the status of this bug? Do packages that actually require update-inetd (and were depending on netbase to get that script) need to be updated to depend on inet-superserver or update-inetd before the inetd dependency can be removed? Is there other work that still needs to be done within (or related to) netbase to remove the inetd dependency? Is there any way myself or others can help with this work?
Would it be possible to change the inetd dependency from "Depends" to "Recommends" so that an inetd is installed by default, but can be removed by those users who really don't want it and know that it won't break anything?
