The easiest way is probably to attach a debugger to the running instance. First, please install the nautilus-dbg package. Then, at the moment it freezes, you can run: $ pidof nautilus 4025 $ gdb /usr/bin/nautilus [ blah blah ] (gdb) attach 4025 [ blah blah ] (gdb) thread apply all bt and send the output.
