Package: libdbus-1-3 Version: 0.94-1 Severity: normal
When starting gaim I get the following error message: "D-Bus library appears to be incorrectly set up; failed to read machine uuid: Failed to open "/var/lib/dbus/machine-id": No such file or directory See the manual page for dbus-uuidgen to correct this issue. Continuing with a bogus made-up machine UUID, which may cause problems." Both the directory /var/lib/dbus/ and the executable dbus-uuidgen (and its manpage) are not available on the system. Is this a post-install and a dependency problem? -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16.18 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages libdbus-1-3 depends on: ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-7 GNU C Library: Shared libraries Versions of packages libdbus-1-3 recommends: pn dbus <none> (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
