Hi,

If xmoto does not have the ghost of a level, it tries to download the ghost
when you start the level. So, if the machine is not connected to internet,
it tries to download the ghost every time a level is started, even if it
already tried 10 secondes before. Since it takes several seconds for xmoto
to fail to download the ghost, it is pretty boring to wait for an impossible
download every time you try the same level again, especially if you lost
only after a couple seconds of playing :)

I guess xmoto should at least not try to download the ghost again if the
user is trying the same level than before (he chose "try same level again"
in the menu during the game). In case the machine finally gets connected
to the internet, the user will be able to get the ghost by aborting the
current level and selecting it again in the level list.

Or maybe there is a way to test the internet access at startup, disable
all downloads as long as internet is unavailable, and test the network
periodically in background during the game?
