Both seem fair by me. However, I'll leave to Alastair, who's the main maintainer of console-data and knows much more than me about this stuff, the final decision whether to include this in etch or not. I personnally consider we should now be on a kind of feature freeze for console-data, so I'de recommend keeping this for post etch.
