Hi,

I want to enable Suspend lode on my PC, But post install seems to fail.

Enabling laptop mode...done (enabled, not active.).

Does it really fail there? Does it leave the package in a unconfigured state?
Run 'dpkg -l uswsusp' to be sure.
It seems unlikely to me; the call to MAKEDEV is tested with an ||-operator, the
message you're seeing should be harmless.

Second: I see you use udev, but you don't have a /dev/snapshot, that is
strange... What kernel are you using? Did you compile it yourself?

What does cat /sys/class/misc/snapshot/dev
say?

Do you have CONFIG_SOFTWARE_SUSPEND=y
In your kernel config? See /boot/config-2.6.18

Hi Tim,

You are right, CONFIG_SOFTWARE_SUSPEND=y was missing in my kernel.
It's working perfectly now.

I'm using linux 2.6.18 + suspend2 patch
My PC uses my swap partition to suspend
I've modified my grub config file, and some hibernate config file.
I've started a Webpage in french : http://slist.lilotux.net/linux/hibernate/
I'm happy ;-)

You can close my bug report.

Cheers
