When the 3.2 sandbox package is installed, the user is given the choice as to whether the sandbox instance files will be left in place or removed when the package is eventually uninstalled. I think the default is to leave the instance files behind. So, it makes sense that if the 3.2 instance files are left in place, there would be a conflict if the next version were trying to install a new instance on top of it. Perhaps this question should not be asked during the install, but during the *uninstall*, and for the default to be the removal of the instance files? Alternatively, I don't think the sandbox instances really have to be installed in the same /sandbox/ directory. Perhaps a versioned directory name like /var/lib/zope3/instance/sandbox_3.3/ would be better. - Michael R.
