Package: miscfiles Version: 1.4.2.dfsg.1-5 Severity: minor Tags: l10n Hi,
Your debian/templates file is marked as translatable (btw, you should not mark as translatable empty fields). However, I have no idea how I should translate "english (Webster's Second International English wordlist)". Should I translate "english" litterally, or should I only adapt it to the translated language, by using the english words? To give an example, if I have the string "United States", I can either translate in French with "Etats-Unis", or if this is a default country, I then should use "France" (i.e. countryname in English). This later case is needed if it is processed by a program. po-debconf(7) allows you to document default fields translation, by using both comment lines starting with "#" and a small explanation in your string, e.g. # This is the default country used by the package <foo> # Translators: translate it by your country name in English if it is # in the following list: "UK, US, Germany, China" # Otherwise, choose the closest country in this list and use it as # the translation. _Default: US[ default country] Cheers, -- Thomas Huriaux
