Package: libpam-mount Version: 0.18-2 Hi,
I just saw, that on my debian login-prompt, the behavior is slightly different if I enter valid usernames and invalid usernames to login. The provided password doesn't matter, it should just be wrong :) It also only happens every 5th time, that means only on the last time before the message 'maximum number of tries exceeded (5)' is printed. I'm also using dm_crypt to mount my encrypted home-partition at login-time, and thus changed some of those config-files .. -- cut example with non-existing user -- Debian GNU/Linux testing/unstable janlap tty2 janlap login: a Password: janlap login: a Password: janlap login: a Password: janlap login: a Password: janlap login: a Password: Maximum number of tries exceeded (5) *pmvarrun: could not resolve user a* -- end cut -- -- cut example with existing user -- Debian GNU/Linux testing/unstable janlap tty2 janlap login: a Password: janlap login: a Password: janlap login: a Password: janlap login: a Password: janlap login: jan Password: Maximum number of tries exceeded (5) *pmvarrun: parsed count value 1* -- end cut -- my system: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list | grep "^deb" deb http://opalix.freitagsrunde.org/debian-rep ./ deb http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main contrib non-free deb http://security.debian.org/ testing/updates main contrib non-free deb ftp://ftp.de.debian.org/debian stable main contrib non-free deb ftp://ftp.de.debian.org/debian testing main contrib non-free deb http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt dapper ma [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ uname -a Linux janlap 2.6.18 #2 PREEMPT Thu Sep 28 17:27:47 CEST 2006 i686 GNU/Linux Let me know if you need any other files or help do reproduce this. cu, Jan -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
