Package: parted Version: 1.7.1-2.1 Severity: important
Because of some troubles, I completly blanked the first sector of a CF card using: terkuile:/home/ernest# dd of=/dev/sda if=/dev/zero bs=512 count=1 1+0 records in 1+0 records out 512 bytes (512 B) copied, 0.033544 seconds, 15.3 kB/s and repartitioned it using cfdisk. I had three partitions encapsulated within the extended partition terkuile:/home/ernest# fdisk /dev/sda -l Disk /dev/sda: 1045 MB, 1045094400 bytes 33 heads, 61 sectors/track, 1014 cylinders Units = cylinders of 2013 * 512 = 1030656 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 1 1014 1020560+ 5 Extended /dev/sda5 1 31 31140+ 4 FAT16 <32M /dev/sda6 32 952 926956 83 Linux /dev/sda7 953 1014 62372+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris All partitions were formatted and also read and written too. When reading with parted however I get: terkuile:/home/ernest# parted -s /dev/sda print No Implementation: Partition 1 isn't aligned to cylinder boundaries. This is still unsupported. This seems fairly basic to me. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17.13 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages parted depends on: ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libncurses5 5.5-3 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii libparted1.7-1 1.7.1-2.1 The GNU Parted disk partitioning s ii libreadline5 5.1-7 GNU readline and history libraries parted recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
