At least I found the problem: while applying some unrelated LSB-compliance
patches the init script was changed to call debian-start with
output=$( /etc/mysql/debian-start )
This method of calling a script seems to prevent the backgrounding via '&'.bye, -christian- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
