O update-notifier não está atualizando a lista de pacotes quando inicio uma sessão do GNOME. Ele é iniciado! inclusive quando rodo "aptitude update" ele notifica que há atualizações disponíveis, porém tenho que atualizar a lista de pacotes manualmente.
