I would suggest adding texlive-latex-recommend, too, but this really
depends on what packages you need. I checked the latest wims package and
the only thing I found is
\usepackage{amsmath,amssymb,amsfonts}
and
\usepackage[latin1]{inputenc}
where
amsmath texlive-latex-base
amssymb texlive-base
amsfonts texlive-base
inputenc texlive-latex-base
So it seems that even those two would be enough. But then I am not sure
why you asked for tetex-extra ...
