Nope. He did gave me explicit permission to upload them directly to 'testing' and adviced Ganneff to accept them in NEW. If you remember back on -release, the question was for a *temporary* inclusion until unstable is ready. For 2.6.17, linux-modules-extra-2.6 is in place, as soon as 2.6.16 goes out of, squashfs-2.6.16 and unionfs-2.6.16 can be removed too.
