Hello again! For me it worked also (even without recompiling) as long as I didn't add songs to my collection, tried to rebuild the collection or wiped the whole database and amarok settings and started with a new one - the collection remained empty and no tables were created in the database. Maybe you could try to create a new database and try to use it with amarok. If it still works for you after this, I neither get the upstream bug report nor why it only works for me with this patch.
