So, the first FTBFS was due to /proc not being mounted, or /dev/fd not
symliking to where it should.
The problem was the use of <( ... ), that required creating a file in
/dev/fd. I changed the script so that this is not necessary (by using a
pipe instead of a temporary file).
I tested this in my local computer, unmounting /proc, and everything worked
fine.
