in bluez-3.x, there are not pinhelpers anymore. Instead, this is done with dbus. This make the whole kdebluetooth a bit strange to use as intuitively, only already paired devices are usuable (no pop-up for pairing PIN anymore). The solution is probably to implement the dbus handling in kbluetooth somehow (documentation of dbus and bluez dbus command are somewhat non-present, though).
